The founders of the “Clooney Foundation For Justice” have donated massive amounts of money to help marginalized and vulnerable communities that are targeted by hate. Amal Clooney, a human rights lawyer, is widely known for her work advocating for marginalized people and refugees.
After meeting George Clooney at a charity event, the two of them co-founded the Clooney Foundation For Justice to fight “for the rights of individuals unfairly targeted by oppressive governments through the courts.” Their charitable contributions do not stop there, however. Many other charities have benefited from their donations, they have brought financing to many organizations that make a difference around the world.
George Clooney has supported the “Not On Our Watch Project,” along with other celebrities like Brad Pitt and Matt Damon. Its goals are to provide resources and spread awareness in order to stop and prevent mass atrocities from occurring around the world. Amal Clooney started the Amal Clooney scholarship, which sends one female student from Lebanon to the United World College Dilian each year, and supports many other charities as well. Between their efforts as a couple and as individuals, the Clooney’s have shown they care about supporting essential causes through their words and their financial support.
