This is the US’ largest charity based on the metric of donations received since they get $3.54 billion each year. The group makes a big impact in different communities by finding out whatever an area needs and trying to provide it. That may look like a collaboration with schools, supporting families in need, or providing health services to those who need it.
Feeding America
This is a great organization that is the umbrella organization for many of our nation’s food banks. This one has an incredible fundraising efficiency and charitable commitment of 99%, meaning that the funds they raise really mostly do go towards their work, which is providing food for families who really need it. Making sure that kids and adults have enough to eat is very important work!
St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
St. Jude’s is a Children’s Hospital where all the treatment is completely free. Having a sick child is really one of the most heartbreaking things in the world. This place offers world class treatment, primarily for kids with cancer, but also for kids with other life threatening illnesses. The parents don’t have to worry about how to pay for it because of donations from generous people like you.
Habitat For Humanity
Habitat For Humanity is actually a global initiative that builds homes for people in need. The organization believes that affordable housing is an essential element to creating stable communities, and was started by former president Jimmy Carter. It’s technically the 6th largest US charity with about $1.17 billion in donations each year.
